Similar to winter sleepers, whose metabolism is reduced to a minimum, ME sufferers are subject to a hypometabolic stasis metabolism. It is now about that, to find out, which leads to or maintains this hypometabolic state. Is the causal trigger still present or the pathological processes have taken on a life of their own?
